Manager/Supervisor
Position Summary
The Site Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the installation of automatic pedestrian entrances at customer sites to ensure that each pedestrian entrance solution is of the highest quality.   The Site Supervisor directs the work of Service Technicians on the job site and will function as the liaison between General Contractors and Branch administration while work is being performed.  The Site Supervisor ensures processes and procedures are being followed to maintain work integrity.

Essential functions
  • Serve as the primary onsite contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits at critical project milestones.
  • Assess site readiness prior to installation.
  • Carry out on-site measurements to ensure the manufacture of accurate inputs; read and interpret architectural, construction, and shop drawings independently; and translate input requirements into detailed procurement lists. 
  • Coordinate with sales, office, factory, and warehouse teams to ensure drawings, orders, and materials align with confirmed site conditions.
  • Track project changes, change orders, and scope deviations.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support Automatic Door Technicians.
  • Enforce NABCO safety policies and applicable OHS regulations; conduct site safety assessments and ensure PPE compliance; and take direct responsibility for the health and safety of all technicians and personnel under their supervision.
  • Manage projectspecific procurement, inventory tracking, and delivery coordination using SAP and scheduling systems.
  • Provide accurate person-hour estimates for installation work and update estimates as project scopes evolves; document the labour and budget impact of the change orders and scope deviations.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and contractual commitments.
  • Perform quality inspections, manage deficiency resolution, and ensure compliance with NABCO standards, AAADM, and applicable codes and accessibility requirements.

Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, and shop drawings.
  • Working knowledge of ICI construction site operations, sequencing, and trades coordination.
  • Experience supervising field technicians in a construction environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Technical knowledge of automated pedestrian door technology and installation processes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the construction sector.

Education, training, experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a construction site supervisory, coordination, or field leadership role within the glazing or automated pedestrian entrances sector.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or electromechanics, construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of field experience and technical training.

Working conditions and physical demands
  • Frequent visits to construction sites across the Calgary region and surrounding area, valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions, construction noise, dust, and uneven terrain is routine.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when project schedules or site conditions require it.
